Straight Ahead Jazz
Yamaide plays principally acoustic jazz, based on the hard
bop tradition and sensibilities. Straight Ahead Jazz has a
few characteristic structural components; the typical
performance consists of a melody,
followed by improvisation on its chord
changes, improvised solos, and then the melody is repeated.
Some compositions, however, do go beyond these structural
bounds.
